Alchemy is fairly simple to understand! If you’ve played Oblivion or Skyrim… or if you’ve even dabbled in ESO’s alchemy, then you know how alchemy works in the Red Wolf Company! You MUST write what ingredients you use for each potion recipe your character knows. The ingredients must come from any Elder Scrolls game, just write which game you are pulling from. Until you reach adept level, you can only have two ingredients in your potions and poisons.
Potions are made by getting two ingredients that have matching effects and combining them! Be wary of the negative effects that ingredients may have. If you match negative effects, the potion will be harmful if ingested and you will be unable to coat your weapon with a potion.
Poisons, on the other hand, are similar, but you try to match the negative effects. Poison can be coated on a weapon, adding different effects based on the poison.
Both poisons and potions do two different things, either instant effects or duration effects. Potions are drank once before it is consumed. Poisons are consumed upon making a contecting hit.
Instant effects, be they damage or healing, follow the same combat rules as striking.

Apprentice: 3
Adept: 5
Expert: 7
Master: 9
When it comes to duration effects, they follow this rule:
Novice: 2 turns
Apprentice: 3 turns
Adept: 4 turns
Expert: 5 turns
Master: 6 turns
Also keep in mind that poisons that do damage over time always do 1 damage per turn unless you gain abilities to increase the damage through leveling your Alchemy skill. The higher the level of poison, the longer the damage over time will be.
Keep in mind that poisons CANNOT be resisted once the effect takes hold except through spells and potions that cure poisons.
Also, just like the spells, it will take you time to learn potions and poisons:
Novice: 1 week
Apprentice: 2 weeks
Adept: 4 weeks
Expert: 8 weeks
Master: 16 weeks
Once you learn 3 alchemy recipes of a level, you automatically increase in level, just like the spell schools.
As your character gets better at alchemy, they will get added benefits for the potions and poisons they can make.
