Artificing is a really unique artisan skill. This is derived from the dwemer and the technologies that they have created. Due to their use of tonal architecture, they created a unique metal that can never rust nor age, which is a key component in their tech. With this skill, you will be able to create unique permanent companions that are powered by soul gems. You will also be able to create your own unique steampunk weapons, explosives and cool machinery.
Dwemer automatons, like other permanent companions like necromantic constructs and animal companions, do not have magicka, so their main attributes are health and stamina. Please keep in mind that, like necromantic creations, you must make a list of all components used in the creation of the automaton. Also keep in mind that using bronze instead of dwemer metal will leave your automaton weaker, but easier to repair due to the ease of getting bronze alloy over dwemer metal. All dwemer automatons are IMMUNE to psychic damage and cannot be taken under control through the use of spells. They have no mind to control. They are programmed to obey whomever created them, even if that person has long since died or disappeared.
Types of Automatons and their level:
Dwemer Spider Worker - novice
Dwemer Spider - apprentice
Dwemer Sphere - adept
Dwemer Ballista - expert
Dwemer Centurion - master
Material Needed:
Soul Gem Apparatus - found in dwemer ruins
Dwemer Metal - found in dwemer ruins and can only be worked on by an adept smith
Bronze - a good substitute for dwemer metal, but without the good qualities
